Today we begin our march toward the spring season and though there's still some winter sport madness left, it's the perfect time to release a new feature. In January, we spoke about taking advantage of all the historical data that you have entered into your site by using the opponent history and historical roster pages. Now we look to take this to another level with the release of Coaching Records and Head Coach Management.

When adding a coach to a roster, there is a toggle asking if they are a head coach. Choosing 'yes' will add them into the new Head Coach Management section, but this also links them to the roster and schedule. We then take this info and generate a year-by-year and overall coaching record page from the results.

What about prior coaches or existing coaches where not all schedules have been added to the site? Well we have come up with a solution for both scenarios. When in the Head Coach Management section, you can edit any existing coach in the list and then have the option to add additional sports and seasons and manually type in the records.

For prior coaches, you will want to add them as a staff member where all you need to enter is their name and title and be sure to mark them as hidden. After completing this, click on Head Coach Management and in the box to the left you can search for and add the coach here, which will also prompt you to add a sport, season and record. Once this is done, you can use the edit coach method mentioned above to add more seasons.

The addition of a manual entry system will allow for this to be a full historical page that also updates in real team as new results are entered.

We have added the following entry in the solution center which will break down the different steps for designating a head coach and how to add them manually into the management section. The year-by-year and overall record pages can be accessed by using 'Build Link' in navigation.
